Filco began nearly 100 years ago with a horse and wagon picking up trash and recyclables in the garment district of Manhattan. Today Filco is a 4th generation family owned business and a pioneer in the evolution of the waste removal and recycling industry. Filco is committed to protecting the environment. We operate a fleet of over 40 trucks and are the first NYC commercial waste and recycling hauler to use the low decibel, non-polluting, compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks.

Filco operates a recycling facility which sorts and recovers a variety of materials from the waste stream for recycling. More than 90% of the waste processed by Filco is recycled! We are licensed by the NYC Business Integrity Commission, are members of the National Solid Waste Management Association (NSWMA), the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID). Filco is one of the few companies providing LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified construction and demolition waste recycling. We were featured presenters at the EPA NYC "Making Recycling Work" roundtable in 2007.
